Rules for Seminars / Conferences / Workshops )
The Research Projects Committee may award grants for seminars,
workshops or academic conferences concerned with specific themes
of History to individual scholars as coordinators who apply in
accordance with the proforma contained in Annexure
VII, the amount of grant in each case not to exceed Rupees
one lakh (Rs. 1,00,000) and to be paid through the host institution
deemed to be the institution of affiliation.
Seminars, Workshops, Conferences grant has been
awarded to the following persons:
1. K.K.N. Kurup, President, Keraleeyan Memorial Committee (Calicut,
Kerala), for seminar on Indian Nationalism, Peasantry and All
India Kisan Sabha (Rs 50,000).
2. Local Secretary, Tamil Nadu History Congress (Mayiladuthurai,
Tamil Nadu), for holding the 12th Annual Session of Tamil Nadu
History Congress (Rs 35,000).
3. Amar Nath Thakur, Department of Ancient Indian History (Madhubani,
Bihar), for seminar on Dimension of Mithila Folk Culture (Rs 30,000).
4. P.J. Cherian, Director, Kerala Council for Historical Research
(Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala), for international seminar on Kerala
History (Rs 1,00,000).
5. Satish Chandra, Chairman, Institute of Rajasthan Seminars/Workshops/Conferences
Studies (Jaipur, Rajasthan), national seminar on Rajasthan during
the Time of Akbar (Rs 50,000, additional grant).
6. Radha Chakravarty, Department of English, Gargi College (New
Delhi), seminar on Integrating Knowledge: The Challenge of Interdisciplinary
Studies (Rs 30,000).
7. N.R. Patnaik, P.G. Department of History (Cuttack, Orissa),
seminar on Development of Historical Sciences in Orissa: Methodological
Problems and Perspectives (Rs 50,000).
8. Deepak Kumar, Zakir Husain Centre for Educational Studies,
JNU (New Delhi), seminar on Health and Medicine in History, East-West
Exchange (Rs 1 lakh).
9. James John, Department of History, St. Thomas College (Kottayam,
Kerala), seminar on The L ocal Chieftains and Lesser Rajas of
Malabar (Rs 50,000).
10. Sundar Sarukkai, Centre for Philosophy, National Institute
of Advanced Studies (Bangalore, Karnataka), workshop on Philosophy
for the Social Sciences and Humanities (Rs 50,000).
11. Giriraj Kumar, President, Rock Art Society of India, Faculty
of Arts, (Dayalbagh, Agra), Annual Congress of the Rock Art Society
of India (Rs 30,000).
