Research Funding Schemes

Publication Subsidy
( Research Funding Rules for Publication Subsidy)

The Research Projects Committee may award subsidies for publication of the following categories of works relating to History:
         (a)   doctoral thesis
         (b)   monograph and other research work
         (c)   proceedings of seminar/symposium/conference
         (d)   critically edited/translated source material
         (e)   bibliographical and documentation work
          (f)   periodical publication
         (g)   any other research-oriented work
         (h)   translation into any Indian language or into English of an important work on History.

Publication Subsidy grant has been awarded to the following persons:

1. Prabhaker Chimtamani Gadre (Gondia, Andhra Pradesh), manuscript, The Period of Transition in Vidharba, A Socio-Economic Study, 1803-1853 (in Marathi) (Rs 20,000 or 50 per cent of the cost of production whichever is less).
2. Purendu Ranjan (Chandigarh), thesis, Kabirpanth in Mithila (Rs 20,000 or 50 per cent of the cost of production whichever is less).
3. Dhirendra Singh (Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh), thesis, Pracheen Bharat mein Bandargah: Ek Aitihasik Adhyayan (Rs 20,000 or 50 per cent of the cost of production whichever is less).
4. Chaouleshwar Kumar Chandrakar (Rajpur, Chhattisgarh), thesis, Kawardha Raj evam Pandariya Jamindari ka Aitihasik Adhyayan (in Hindi) (Rs 20,000 or 50 per cent of the cost of production whichever is less).
5. Chittabrata Palit, Director, Corpus Research Institute, (Kolkata, West Bengal), journal, CLIO - An Interdisciplinary Journal of History, Vol. IV (2005) (Rs 20,000 or 50 per cent of the cost of production whichever is less).
6. M.N.P. Tiwari, Department of History of Art and Tourism, (Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh), proceedings, National Seminar on Professor V.S. Agrawal and his Contributions to Indian Art and Culture, (Rs 20,000 or 50 per cent of the cost of production whichever is less).
7. M. Sita Narasimhan (Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu), thesis, Saivism under the Imperial Cholas (Rs 20,000 or 50 per cent of the cost of production whichever is less).
8. P.N. Sahay (Delhi) manuscript, Three Decades of Historical Writings (A Cumulative Index to Articles, Books, Reviews appeared in The Indian Historical Review, 1974-2003) (Rs 20,000).
9. Mohan Lal Sahu (Kota, Rajasthan), thesis, Historical and Cultural Study of Rock Painting of Alania (in Hindi) (Rs 20,000 or 50 per cent of the cost of production whichever is less).
10. Anjani Kumar Misra (Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh), thesis, Smritiyon mein Varnit Prachin Bharatiya Artha Vyavastha (in Hindi) (Rs 20,000 or 50 per cent of the cost of production whichever is less).
11. Jhinkoo Yadav, Director, National Research Institute of Human Culture (Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh), journal, Sanskriti Sadhana, Vol. XV (2002) (bilingual) (Rs 10,000).
