Research Funding Schemes

General / Post - Doctoral Fellowship (For 2 years)
( Research Funding Rules for General / Post - Doctoral Fellowship)

  1. The Fellowship shall carry an amount or Rupees six thousand (Rs. 6,000) per month with a contingency grant of Rupees twelve thousand (Rs. 12,000) per annum.
  2. Only a scholar who has obtained the degree of Ph.D. or equivalent from an Indian or foreign university or has published work of equivalent merit to his credit shall be eligible for the Fellowship.
  3. The duration of the Fellowship shall be two years, which may be extended by one year after assessment of the Fellow’s work by the Research Projects Committee.

General Fellowship (Post-doctoral) has been granted to the following persons:

1. Lalima Dhar Chakrabarti (New Delhi), Art and Architecture of the Sufi Shrines of Kashmir during Sultanate Period.
2. Priya Darshini (Patna, Bihar), Agrarian Development in Gupta Period.
3. Shalini Dixit (Rajendranagar, Patna), Female Mendicants in Early Buddhism.
4. G.P. Chintamani (Gondia, Maharashtra), Social- Cultural Study of 18th century Berar (AD 1707- 1803).
5. Krishna Murari (Delhi), Rural Community of Early India as Depicted in Pali Literature.
