Foreign Travel Grants
( Research Funding Rules for Foreign Travel Grants )

Full/part air fare and/or maintenance. Awarded to a citizen of India wishing to study at archives, museums, libraries or private collections abroad for collection of source material, or to take part in a workshop, seminar or conference abroad for presenting a paper relating to history, or to receive training in a specialized branch of history.

Foreign Travel Grants has been granted to the following persons:

1. Monica Sharma (Jalandhar, Punjab) to attend European Social Science History Conference, from 22-25 March 2006, in Amsterdam, to present a paper on Culture of the Neighbourhood and Formation of Community Identity among the Leather Workers in Colonial India (both ways airfare only).
2. David Edward Uther Baker (Delhi) to collect source material on A City's College: St. Stephen's College and Delhi, 1881-2005 (both ways airfare and 15 days maintenance grant only).
