Foreign Travel Grants
( Research Funding Rules for Foreign Travel Grants - Chapter 5 )

Grants for full/part airfare and/or maintenance for trips abroad are awarded to citizens of India who wish to:
(i) collect research material and sources at archives, museums, libraries or private collections abroad;
(ii) take part in a workshop, seminar or conference abroad for presenting a paper related to History; or
(iii)receive training in a specialized branch of History.

The ICHR may invite to India a non-Indian scholar to deliver lectures or undertake research, on any aspect of History, or to present a paper at a seminar, conference or workshop organized or funded by the ICHR. In such cases, air travel, hospitality/ maintenance costs or a lump sum payment of Rs 25,000 (in the case of South Asian scholars) may be granted.

1. Dr. (Mrs) Neeta M. Khandpekar(K.J. Somaya College of Arts and Commerce, Mumbai), for attending the International Convention of Asia Scholars (ICAS 5) held during 2 – 5 August, 2007 at Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia( both ways airfare).
2. Professor Sachchidanand Sahai ( Gurgaon, Haryana), for attending the European Association of Southeast Asian Studies Conference held during 15 – 21 September, 2007 at Naples, Italy(both ways airfare).
3. Dr. Rakesh (ARSD College, University of Delhi), for attending the ICANAS-38 during 10– 15 September 2007 held at Ankara, Turkey (both ways airfare).
4. Dr.Rekibuddin Ahmed (Gauhati University, Gauhati, Assam), for attending the 30th German Congress of Oriental Studies held during 24 - 28 September, 2007 at the University of Freiburg, Germany(both ways airfare ).
5. Shri Abhilash Malayil (JNU, New Delhi), for attending the New Zealand Asian Studies Society, (NZASIA), 17th Biennial International Conference 2007, held during 22nd – 25th November, 2007 at University of Ontago Dunedin(both ways airfare ).
6.. Ms Sarika Malhotra (Greater Kailash-2, New Delhi), to visit Singapore and Malaysia for collection of source material(both ways airfare and maintenance grant).
7. Ms. Bina Sengar (Somnathnagar, P.O. Tarsali, Vadodara) for attending the Seventh European Social Science History (both ways airfare)
8. Shri Diptendu Sarkar ( Kolkata), to visit London for collection of source material (both ways airfare and 14 days maintenance grant)
9. Dr. Arvind Sinha (JNU, New Delhi) to visit London for collection of source material from Associate Professor, Centre for Historical Studies (14 days maintenance grant only )
10. Dr. Vijaya Ramaswamy (JNU, New Delhi) for attending the Third International Conference of Tamil Studies, 15-17 May 2008 to be held in Toronto, Canada (both ways airfare, visa charge and medical insurance only ) .
11. Dr. Asok Datta (Alipur Campus, 1, Reformatory Street, 7th Floor, Kolkata) for attending the 4th international Seminar on Archaeology to be held in Beijing, China, from 2-5 June 2008 ( Rs. 45, 000/-)
12.Ms Richa Malhotra( New Delhi), to collect the source material from London( both ways air fare).
13. Ms Smarika Nawani( New Delhi), to collect the source material from Lisbon(Rs 48, 600/-).
14. Dr. R.C. Rajendran( Kerala), to attend the International Seminar on Kings and Ascetics in Indian Classical Literature at University of Milan, Italy, during 20-23 September 2007( Rs 45,000/-).
15. Shri Dhirendra Datt Dangwal( Shimla), to attend the Seventh European Social Science History Conference at Lisbon during 26 February –1 March 2008( Rs 21, 300/-).
16. Ms. Arti Deshpande Mukherjee(Pune), to attend the Second meeting of ICAZ, Archaeomalacology Working Group at Santander(Spain) during 19-22 February 2008( Rs 50,000/-).
